Urban Character PORTRAITS AND TOKENS 1 and 2 (English)

ROLEARTS continues its rather slow but faithful and constant march. My latest proposals are aimed at the use of particular gaming groups (I have already handled stock art for publishers and micropublishers before).

I'm pleased to present two twin products: Urban character Portraits and Tokens 1 and  Urban character Portraits and Tokens 2. Each one is a collection of 96 portraits of possible PCs and NPCs made by the artist Luis Miguez -that is, pour moi.

Yes, 96 portraits each one, 192 pictures in total.

These images are presented as a collection of tokens and as a 3-page PDF document.

The tokens, useful for online gaming sessions on platforms like  ROLL20  or others, come as round and square images (in 72 pps color png file).

The PDF pages (in black and white at 300 pps) can be printed and cut out to attach the images to the usual character sheets, or to stick them on cardboard or thick cardstock and use them as tokens or position markers. Of course, they can simply be used as a visual aid when describing PCs and NPCs.

They are made with contemporary horror in mind -one of the great genres of role-playing games. That genre has perhaps its greatest exponent in Vampire the Masquerade (in any of its editions) but which also knows more modern approaches such as Night's Black Agents, Fear Itself, The Esoterrorists, other classics like Kult, Unknown Armies, Witchcraft, Chill or In Nomine and the much more indie  Vampire City, Urban Shadows and the Spanish Horrorama (without forgetting rarities like Nightbane and Nightlife).

 ROLEARTS sigue su marcha parsimoniosa pero fiel y constante. Mis últimas propuestas están dirigidas al uso de grupos de juego particulares (ya me he encargado del stock art para editoriales y microeditoriales con anterioridad).

Tengo el placer de presentar Urban character Portraits and Tokens 1 y Urban character Portraits and Tokens 2, dos productos gemelos. Cada uno es una colección de 96 retratos de  posibles PJs y PNJs realizados por el artista Luis Miguez, es decir, pour moi. Y sí, 96 cada una, 192 dibujos en total.

Estas imágenes se presentan como una colección de tokens y como un documento PDF de 3 páginas.

Los tokens, útiles para sesiones de juego en línea en plataformas como ROLL20 u otras, se presentan como imágenes redondas y cuadradas (en archivo png de 72 pps en color).

Las páginas PDF (en blanco y negro a 300 pps) se pueden imprimir y recortar para adjuntar las imágenes a las consabidas hojas de personaje, o para pegarlas en cartón o cartulina gruesa y usarlas como fichas o marcadores. También, claro se pueden utilizar simplemente como ayuda visual al describir PJs y PNJs.

 Están hechos pensando en el terror contemporáneo, uno de los grandes géneros de los juegos de rol, que tiene tal vez su máximo exponente en Vampiro la Mascarada (en cualquiera de sus ediciones) pero que conoce también aproximaciones más modernas como Night's Black Agents, Fear Itself, The Esoterrorists, otros clásicos como Kult, Unknown Armies, Witchcraft, Chill o In Nomine y los bastante más indies Vampire City, Urban Shadows y el español Horrorama (a los que habría que sumar rarezas como los olvidados Nightbane y Nightlife).

A Town from 1600?

EN RENAISSANCE TOWN I is the seventh ROLE-ARTS product dedicated to offering building plans for RPGs GM use, and the first to go back in time beyond the 20th century to do so. RENAISSANCE TOWN I includes 10 house models on 17 (17!!) plan pages. These houses would have been built between 1350-1650, and appear as they would have been between the 16th and 17th centuries, the most popular period for historical fantasy and swashbuckling RPGs. And, of course, they are useful too for fantasy settings.

RENAISSANCE TOWN I PDF format makes it a very practical reference material. It’s easy to make partial printed copies, if necessary. It’s B/W images, without any superfluous details, makes this last possibility especially print friendly and cheap. It also eases its modifica­tion “on the fly” using pencils and markers. Being mostly blank rooms, and its lack of descriptive texts, the drawing doesn’t give any clue of its content to the players, allowing GMs to adapt any description at the service of the particular needs of their story. 

Please, note that this product doesn't include any commercial use allowing license. It's a game tool for gamemasters/storytellers.

ES RENAISSANCE TOWN I es el séptimo producto de ROLE-ARTS dedicado a ofrecer planos de construcción para uso de directores de juegos de Rol, y el primero en retroceder en el tiempo más allá del siglo XX. RENAISSANCE TOWN I incluye 10 modelos de casas en 17 (¡17!!) páginas de planos. Estas casas se habrían construido entre 1350 y 1650 y tienen el aspecto que hubieran tenido entre los siglos XVI y XVII, el período más popular para la fantasía histórica  o la capa y espada (y, por supuesto, también son útiles para escenarios de fantasía).

El formato PDF de RENAISSANCE TOWN I lo convierte en un material de referencia muy práctico. Es fácil hacer copias impresas  si es necesario. Sus imágenes en B/N, sin detalles superfluos, hacen que esta posibilidad sea especialmente económica y también facilita su modificación “sobre la marcha” utilizando lápices y rotuladores. Al carecer de textos descriptivos, el dibujo no da ninguna pista de su contenido a los jugadores, lo que permite a los DJ adaptar cualquier descripción a las necesidades particulares de su historia.

Fantasy Character PORTRAITS AND TOKENS 1 (English)

ROLEARTS continues its parsimonious but constant and faithful cmarch. My first graphic product aimed at private, personal, non commercial use by particular game groups is set in the universe of investigation, terror and the 20s, very typical of Role-playing games. But, of course, no less typical of them is the world of sword and sorcery, Tolkienesque adventure and almost mythological stories.

Fantasy Character Portraits and Tokens 1 is a 42 portraits collection, all possible PCs and NPCs made ad hoc by artist Luis Miguez. I have made these drawings thinking about the classic MERP  and its (smaller? older?) brother Rolemaster, but also in the new Against the Dark Master  that my beloved Other Selves are going to publish in Spanish, in The One Ring and in the Lord of the Rings/D&D 5th edition. Elves, dwarves, warriors, witches and rangers, but also orcs, goblins and wraiths -42 images go a long way...

These images are presented as a collection of tokens and as a 3-page PDF document.

Mi primera propuesta gráfica dirigida al uso de grupos de juego particulares está ambientada en el universo de la investigación, el terror y los años 20, muy típica de los juegos de Rol. Pero, desde luego, no menos típico de ellos es el mundo de la espada y brujería, la  aventura tolkienesca y lo casi mitológico.

Fantasy Character Portraits and Tokens 1 es una colección de 42 retratos de  posibles PJs y PNJs realizados ad hoc por el artista Luis Miguez. He realizado estos dibujos pensado en el clásico MERP y en su hermano (¿pequeño? ¿mayor?) Rolemaster, pero también en el nuevo Against the Dark Master que van a editar mis queridos Other Selves, en El Anillo Único y en el Señor de los Anillos/D&D 5ª edición. Elfos, enanos, guerreros, brujos y montaraces... pero también orcos, goblins y espectros. 42 imágenes dan para mucho... 

Estas imágenes se presentan como una colección de tokens y como un documento PDF de 3 páginas.

Old Twenties Character PORTRAITS AND TOKENS 1 & 2 (ENGLISH)

ROLE ARTS is, as I told you some time ago, my personal project of microedition of Role Playing Game products, mostly graphic in nature. Since I have started it, I am announcing their news in their own Facebook page. You can find their products in the Drive Thru RPG online store. 

This time I want to show you an proposal for the private, exclusive  use of Directors and gaming groups. Old Twenties Character Portraits and Tokens 1 and Old Twenties Character Portraits and Tokens 2.

These two products compile a vast collection of images (44 possible-character portraits the first one, 46 the second one) that I had already published for commercial use by publishers and micro-publishers, now putting them at the service of any gaming table. The theme is investigation and mystery in the 1920s USA, setting of the well-known and archpopular Call of Cthulhu TTRPG.

These images are presented as digital tokens in low resolution PNG format, very useful for organizing online role-playing games on platforms such as Roll20.

In addition, a PDF includes all the images in high resolution format, for print and use them as a visual aid in tabletop, face-to-face games. Each portrait can be cut out and glued to a character sheet or onto thick cardboard or cardstock to be used as a counter or marker.
